V-grooving, also known as V-cutting, is a process for cutting grooves in flat sheet metal and serves as an auxiliary step to shearing and bending. After V-grooving, the sheet has clear reference lines for shearing and bending; following the bend the fillet can be removed to achieve a true right-angle bend.
V-grooving is an auxiliary forming operation: at the intended bend line special equipment and tooling cut a V-shaped groove so the material can be bent more easily and the outer bend radius is minimized. The bent part is then formed on a press brake or manually. The V-groove’s depth, width, and angle are determined and controlled by the cutter geometry and the cutting/feed depth during the grooving operation.

The four-side grooving machine is equipped with an automatic rotation system for the tool holder, which can achieve one-time molding of all four sides without the need for manual turning, greatly improving dimensional accuracy and processing efficiency.
The equipment adopts five axis CNC and full servo drive, supports automatic calculation of groove spacing, visual programming, and preview of bending effects. It is compatible with various materials such as stainless steel and aluminum plate, and is easy to operate, suitable for high-end sheet metal precision bending pre-processing.

Horizontal structure
The Automatic four side V grooving machine is based on a horizontal gantry frame, and the machine base and crossbeam are tempered in an electric furnace to eliminate welding stress, ensuring high rigidity and stability of the machine tool; The overall rack undergoes CNC precision machining for one-time clamping, ensuring that the installation surface is parallel and perpendicular; Low alloy, high-strength steel countertops are processed by self planing to be flat and smooth. During processing, the plates remain stationary to avoid wear and tear, making them particularly suitable for precision machining of decorative and mirror finish plates.

Rotating tool holder
The automatic four side V cut machine is equipped with an automatic rotating tool holder system, which can complete the four side grooving of the board in one go without manual steering, effectively improving dimensional accuracy and production efficiency. The turret adopts hydraulic chuck locking, with high rotation accuracy and stable positioning. Simultaneous processing with three knives ensures even distribution of cutting force and reduces the risk of workpiece deformation. Support optional micro cooling system to extend tool life and reduce operating costs. The universal tool installation interface is compatible with both white steel and alloy knives, with flexible clamping to meet diverse machining needs.
Front clamps
The automatic four side V cut is equipped with multiple front pressure feet and pneumatic clamping systems, coupled with pneumatic devices, effectively improving the strength of sheet metal fixation and ensuring processing stability. The transmission module adopts a fully enclosed design to prevent metal wire from being rolled in. Combined with high-precision components, it greatly reduces the failure rate, improves the reliability and accuracy of long-term operation, and is suitable for continuous and efficient production in complex environments.


Side clamps
The fully automatic grooving machine is equipped with multiple movable side pressure feet and features automatic evasive function. During horizontal machining, the tool holder always lowers the blade near the side pressure foot to ensure sufficient clamping force of the board at critical positions, effectively avoiding the risk of "flying board" caused by loose fixation. This design significantly improves processing stability and operational safety, ensuring the precision and reliability of high-speed grooving processes.
